Introduction

This page describe the iVDGL VO privilege information needed to allow people and services within the iVDGL VO access to a particular site. Included here is the GUMS and VOMS information that must be in place.

Requesting iVDGL VO Membership

To request membership in the iVDGL VO please complete the following steps:

  • Go here and complete the form. NOTE: Your DOE cert must be loaded into the browser you are using to make the request.
  • Complete the Institute and Phone Number fields. If the Name feilds are not completed you do not have your cert loaded into your browser correctly.
  • Enter "iVDGL" in the comment field.
  • Read the iVDGL Usage Rules below and click "I have read and agree to the VO's Usage Rules".
  • You will receive an email confirmation, follow the link in the email.
  • Once this is done the VOMS administrator will confirm your membership with the appropiate VO representative and let you know when you have been added.

iVDGL Usage Rules

The iVDGL VO's primary purpose is the development of computer science applications on the OSG infastructure. Addition into the iVDGL VO requires a user to agree to the following Usage Rules.

  • OSG Usage Policy - Users agree to the OSG Usage Policy located here.
  • Proper Usage - Users will use the iVDGL VO for its intended purpose of developing and running grid based applications on the OSG infastructure.
  • Action Within the Scope of iVDGL - Users will not use the iVDGL VO to run jobs related to other OSG VOs.
  • Malicious Actions & Access - Users agree to use the iVDGL VO and OSG resources for lawful actions and will not share credentials with other individuals.
  • Regard for Security - Users agree to keep systems which contain user credentials and VO account information secure.
  • Membership in an iVDGL Institution - Only members of institutions named in the iVDGL grant will be accepted into the iVDGL VO.
  • Incident Reporting - If a machine containing a users credentials is compromised the user agrees to immediately contact the OSG-GOC at goc@opensciencegrid.org
